What is CACHE? Will the Diploma allow me to work as a registered teacher in Hong Kong and/or the UK?
We are the only Steiner Waldorf Early Years course in Hong Kong that meets government requirements to be a registered Early Years Educator in the UK and HK. (In HK you will need to apply for teacher registration separately and and have the qualification assessed as equivalent as with all overseas qualifications.) The UK CACHE Level 4 Diploma does currently meet the HK government equivalent qualification criteria to become a Qualified Kindergarten Teacher.
The course is also recognised and accredited by IASWECE (International Association of Steiner Waldorf Early Childhood Education).
The aim of this qualification is to provide the learner with the expertise, skills and professional approach needed to be a Steiner Waldorf Kindergarten Teacher and Early Years Educator (EYE), and includes classroom based and placement hours. Learners completing this qualification may proceed directly to work in either a Steiner Waldorf Early Years or a mainstream setting.
This qualification has been built to meet the criteria for Early Years Educators required by the UK National College for Teaching and Leadership (NCTL).
The course is suitable if you are looking for a recognised, validated UK qualification in early years care and education and wish to specialise in the Waldorf approach to early childhood.
The course may suit those:
- already working as an assistant in a Waldorf early childhood centre, or intending to apply for an assistantship, but without previous Waldorf training
- wishing to take up Waldorf early childhood work in the future
- wanting to become a group leader in a Waldorf kindergarten
- working in mainstream education but wishing to know and understand Waldorf principles and practice in the early years
Please note: our CACHE Level 4 Diploma in Steiner Waldorf Early Childhood Studies (Early Years Educator) is officially recognised by the Steiner Waldorf Schools Fellowship (UK) as the required training for teaching in a Steiner Waldorf kindergarten: it has a clear focus on the specific principles and practice of Waldorf kindergartens.
